סְבָא

Bath.98a אדעתא לסַבּוּיֵיה with the intention to retail it. Af. אַסְבָּא to satiate, soak; trnsf. (cmp. סָפַג) to lash. Keth.10a אַסְבּוּהוּ כופרי make him absorb (strike him with) palm switches. Ib. ומַסְבִּינָן ליהוכ׳ and we lash him nevertheless.
